An explosion in a chemical factory in Slovenia

NATURAL DISASTER WARNINGS

An explosion and fire broke out in the chemical factory Melamin in Kocevje, Slovenia, around 8:30 am.

According to unofficial information, at least 20 people were injured.

Images from the scene showed black smoke billowing from the factory. Local residents said the explosion shook the entire area. 

Head of the Sector for Air Quality Jadranka Škevin-Sović said briefly that the situation is being monitored at DHMZ stations and that everything is fine so far and there are no changes in air quality.
